The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park presents Built to Spill on Wednesday, August 29. Opening the show at 8pm will be Helvetica and Revolt Revolt ($15). Also new on the schedule is Moombah Massive featuring Nadastrom and Sazon Booya at 8:30pm on Friday, August 3 ($20 in advance; $23 at the door); and Yelawolf’s Slumerian Tour makes a stop in Clifton Park on Friday, November 2, with Rittz, Trouble Andrew, DJ Vajra and DJ Champion opening the show at 8pm ($18 in advance; $20 at the door). Tix for all three shows go on sale at 10am on Friday (June 29).

British band Scars on 45 made their Nippertown debut just last month, opening for Ingrid Michaelson at The Egg and playing a brief set for WEXT-FM listeners at The Linda earlier in the day. Now they’re coming back for a full headlining concert at The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Friday, July 6 in celebration of WEXT’s fifth anniversary. Tix are $18. Also new on The Linda’s schedule is the Who tribute band Who Are You at 8pm on Saturday, October 13. Tix are $15.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Two-time Grammy Award-winner and alt-music icon Justin Vernon and his nine-piece band Bon Iver have been added to an already stellar concert calendar at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown. Anais Mitchell is slated to open the show. Tix go on sale on Friday (June 29).
Three new concerts have been announced for the upcoming fall season at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, including country-pop legend Kenny Rogers at 8pm on Thursday, September 27 ($50, $100 & $125); comedian-cabaret performer Sandra Bernhard at 8pm on Saturday, October 20 ($35, $50 & $65); and Irish tenor Ronan Tynan at 8pm on Saturday, November 3 ($30, $45 & $55). Tix for all three shows go on sale to the general public on Friday (June 29).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The relentlessly outspoken Henry Rollins is bringing his “Capitalism” spoken word tour to The Egg in Albany… just before Election Day.
As previously announced, Lucinda Williams will be opening the show for John Prine at the Palace Theatre in Albany on Friday, August 17. But now she’ll also have a night all of her own on stage at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 8pm on Saturday, August 4. Priced at $25, $35 & $45, tix are slated to go on sale on Friday (June 29).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Arlo Guthrie has been announced as the special musical guest for “A Prairie Home Companion” at Tanglewood in Lenox on Saturday (June 30).
