Comin’ Soon: New Concert Announcements

Club Helsinki in Hudson has added several new concerts to its schedule, including indie folk band Brown Bird at 9pm on Friday, July 20 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); neo-bluegrass folk band Chatham County Line at 9pm on Friday, August 17 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); singer-songwriter Michelle Shocked at 9pm on Saturday, September 29 ($25 in advance; $30 at the door).

CANCELLED: The Shockwave Festival” at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Friday, July 20 has been cancelled. Fear Factory and Voivod had been slated to co-headline the fest. Refunds are available at the place of purchase.

Tix are now on sale for August shows at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, including the Jeremy Wallace Trio at 8pm on Friday, August 3 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door); Aztec Two-Step at 6:30 & 9pm on Saturday, August 4 ($30 in advance; $32 at the door); John Gorka at 7pm on Friday, August 17 ($22 in advance; $24 at the door); Mary Fahl at 8pm on Saturday, August 25 ($22 in advance; $24 at the door) and more…

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg in Albany announced a whole bunch of new 2012-2013 shows including Mary Chapin Carpenter, Tift Merritt, Nick Lowe, George Winston, Loudon Wainwright III, Altan and the all-star SFJAZZ Collective. Tix go on sale on Friday (July 6).

And although there’s been no official word yet from the folks at The Egg in Albany, the Bellydance Superstars will be returning to Nippertown on Friday, November 16, according to the BDSS website. That’s the all the info we have at this time, so stay tuned for details as soon as they’re announced.

SOLD OUT: The Richard Thompson concert at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock – with special guests Teddy Thompson, Martin Simpson, Sloan Wainwright and Happy Traum – at 8pm on Thursday, July 19, is now officially sold out.

Jillian’s in Albany has bolstered its fall calendar with the addition of a show by Trevor Hall – in support of his latest album, “Everything Everytime Everywhere” – at 9pm on Friday, October 5. Priced at $16, advance tix will go on sale at 12noon on Friday (July 6).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Bob Dylan’s never-ending tour is making a pair of stops in the Greater Nippertown region in September – at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, as well as Mountain Park in Holyoke.

Tom Hamilton leads his band American Babies into Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs on Friday, August 3. Dangermuffin opens the show at 9pm. Tix are $10.
