Win FREE TIX to the New York City Ballet at SPAC
The New York City Ballet is back at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center for its annual summer residency. The world class dance company and 62-piece orchestra kicks off its two week season on Tuesday (July 10).
But the ballet is in trouble at SPAC. What originally began as a month-long summer season will dwindle to just a single week next year, due to financial concerns. The best way to show your support for the ballet is simply with your attendance. If you’re a regular – or even occasional ballet-goer – then you already know how glorious the performances are.
But maybe you only know about ballet from movies, whether it’s “Red Shoes” or “Black Swan.” If you’ve never seen the NYC Ballet live at SPAC, well, now is the time to check it out and see what you’ve been missing.
And we’d like to make it as easy as possible for you, so Nippertown is giving away a pair of FREE LAWN TICKETS to see the NYC Ballet in action on Thursday night (July 12). Beginning at 8pm, the company will be performing three pieces: Concerto Barocco (music by Bach/choreography by Balachine)/Kammermusik (Hindemith/Balanchine), The Waltz Project (Martins) and Symphony in C (Bizet/Balanchine).
To make it even more entertaining, Thursday evening at SPAC is also Sage College’s Date Night with a pre-performance party at 6pm that includes music, classic photo-booths, complimentary imported food and world-class wine tastings.
To enter the contest to win a FREE PAIR OF TIX for the full Thursday evening at SPAC, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The winner will be selected at random and notified on Thursday morning. Enter today! Good luck! Congratulations to the winner, who has been notified by email.
My five year old granddaughter has been taking ballet lessons for a year now, but she’s never been to see a ballet live! I’d love to win these tickets, and take her 🙂
This is great! My fingers are crossed!
It saddens me that the Ballet is being cut to one week. Then what–to nothing? I question SPAC’s commitment to NYCB. Both entities need to work together to FUND RAISE before the lights go up for opening night, before NYCB ever sets foot in Saratoga. How many thousands of $$$ do we toss at the NY Giants to accommodate them for their 3-4 week residency at SUNY? Why aren’t they paying their own way? How many BILLIONS w/a B are we throwing at Nanotech? The n what do we do when the next technological breakthrough makes nanotech as obsolete as DOS 3.0???
The question raised eons ago by someone writing in either TU Perspective or Gazette Sunday Opinion remains pertinnt today: Have we lost our collective soul or did we never have it to lose?
Too bad about the ballet.
I have never been to the ballet!
Tickets, thank you.
good luck to the dancers
I would love to share the ballet with a friends daughter who dreams of dancing, twirling and floating across the stage!
Would love an evening at the NYC ballet! SPAC = HEAVEN 🙂
This contest has me on my toes!
Sounds Lovely!
What a nice opportunity to enjoy some of the best talent anywhere!
Thank you for this opportunity! I would love to surprise my daughter with tickets for us to see the ballet! I know this economy is tough on all of us but for once I would like to not stress about it and be able to say yes!
Thanks again!
