FILM: “Shut Up and Play the Hits” @ the Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern’s film documents the final performance of LCD Soundsystem at Madison Square Garden on April 2, 2011, while also presenting an intimate portrait of bandleader James Murphy as he navigates the lead-up to the show, the day after and the personal and professional ramifications of his decision to end the band. DANCE: Jacob’s Pillow, Becket. The Hong Kong Ballet makes its Jacob’s Pillow debut with a varied program of stunning contemporary ballet works in the Ted Shawn Theatre, danced to sweeping music by Stravinsky, Górecki and others at 8pm. In the Doris Duke Theatre, Chicago’s Luna Negra Dance Theater performs “Bate” by Fernando Melo and “Requiem” by choreographer Monica Cervantes at 8:15pm. Both through Sunday.
