Line-Up of Bands for the Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival
The annual Port of Albany’s Riverfront Jazz Festival is returning to Riverfront Park in the Corning Preserve on Saturday, September 8 with a another fine line-up of jazz. And it’s all free.
The fest will take place from 12noon-9pm on Saturday, September 8, and the day-long free festival will be capped ogg with a fireworks display.
The rain site for the fest is the Palace Theatre in Albany.

THE PEDRITO MARTINEZ GROUP featuring Araicne Trujillo
The Havana-born conga player-vocalist and his band are fresh from acclaimed appearances in June at Freihofer’s Jazz Festival in Saratoga and Mountain Jam in Hunter.
4pm:
DELFEAYO MARSALIS
Trombonist-composer-producer from New Orleans’ fabled Marsalis clan
5:30pm:
CHARLIE HUNTER
The veteran guitarist-composer-bandleader has worked with everyone from Norah Jones to Stefon Harris, from John Mayer to Mos Def.
7pm:
THE MOSAIC PROJECT featuring Terri Lyne Carrington, Nona Hendryx and Gretchen Parlato
The Mosaic Project is a historic, cross-cultural celebration of female artists masterminded by acclaimed drummer-composer-producer Terri Lyne Carrington. Featured vocalists are Nona Hendryx (founding member of LaBelle) and the sublime jazz singer Gretchen Parlato.
