MUSIC: Sierra Hull & Highway 111 @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. She’s a bluegrass mandolin prodigy, having made her Grand Ole Opry debut at age 11 playing with Alison Krausss. Hull and and her band fire it up in support of their latest album, “Daybreak.” Expect to be dazzled… 7pm. $22.
MUSIC: Animal Kingdom @ Jillian’s, Albany. The North London trio serves up lush, atmospheric sounds as they land in Nippertown in support of their sophomore album, “The Looking Away.” With Eight and a Half. 8pm. $10.
THEATER ON FILM: “The Tempest” @ Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. Starring Academy Award-winner Christopher Plummer as captured live on stage at Canada’s Stratford Shakespeare Festival. 6:30pm. $15; children 12 and under $12.
MUSIC: The Murali Coryell Band @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The blues guitarslinger and his band (drummer Dorian “Detroit” Randolph and bassist Vince Leggiere) are recording the show for possible upcoming release. 8pm. FREE.
MUSIC: “Hello, Gorgeous! Leslie Kritzer Sings Jule Styne” @ Barrington Stage Co., Pittsfield. The two-time Drama Desk Award nominee sings the music of Jule Styne, who composed such songs as “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade” and “Time After Time.” 7pm. $20-$30.
MUSIC: Hudson Falcons @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. A reunion of the band’s original 1998-1999 line-up featuring drummer Alyson Cina, vocalist-guitarist Mark Linskey, guitarist Uncle Chris Lynn and bassist Jim Meyer. With Quiet Hollers, Dirty Stayouts and Ten Ton Limit. 8pm.
