THEATER: “Frame Upon Frame, Chapter One: God’s Woods” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. A new theater-music-media performance constructed by Claudia Bruce (singer, performer), Gerald von Stoddard (musician, songwriter) and John Musall (musician, singer) with text and media by Linda Mussmann, including 8mm movies, video clips, overhead projections and live-video feed manipulated on stage. 7:45pm. $10. MUSIC: Real Estate @ MASS MoCA, North Adams. The New Jersey indie band rolls into MASS MoCA in support of their sophomore album, “Days.” 8pm. $18.

CIRCUS: Zoppe Italian Circus @ Proctors, Schenectady. It’s a world of acrobatics, equestrian showmanship, jugglers, canine capers, clowns and an abundance of audience participation under the big top. No seat is more than 25 feet from the action. 7pm. $25 & $35; kids 17 and under $15 & $25. Through Sunday.

MUSIC: The Philadelphia Orchestra @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. It’s Italian Opera Night featuring Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting Rossini’s Overture to the Barber of Seville; Verdi’s Overture to La Forza del Destino; Puccini’s Intermezzo from Manon Lescaut and Mascagni’s Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, as well as arias and duets from Aida, Tosca and LaBoheme. 8pm.

MUSIC: Brasi @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. A CD release party celebrating “Covered in Dirt,” a 14-year career retrospective of Brasi (aka, Alex Hyatt) featuring recordings by Flakjacket, Livingston Bramble, Seven, the Joe Mama Band, Whisper to Apocalypse and more. With special guests Erin Harkes and Graveyard Poets. 8pm.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Summer Slaughter Festival @ Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. Cannibal Corpse and Between the Buried and Me co-headline the headbangin’ bash. With the Faceless, Periphery, Veil of Maya, Job for a Cowboy, Goatwhore, Exhumed and March to Victory. Doors at 2pm; music at 2:30pm. $27.
