“I believe that the first album I ever bought was a Chuck Berry album. The one that had ‘Johnny B. Goode’ on it.

“Of course, back in those days, it was more about singles than albums. Artists put out singles until they had enough to put out an album.

“Buddy Holly was very influential in my early guitar-playing life, and the blues stuff was all those Chess blues recordings – The Best of Muddy Waters, Best of Little Walter and the Sonny Boy Williamson recordings. And Best of Howlin’ Wolf.”

Guitar great and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jorma Kaukonen teams up with his Hot Tuna bandmate Barry Mitterhoff on mandolin for an evening of acoustic duets at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 8pm on Wednesday (September 12). Tix are $25, $35 & $45.
