MUSIC: The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. From their jug band roots to their cross-generational bluegrass/country classic “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” to their No. 1 country hit “Fishin’ in the Dark” and beyond NGDB – featuring Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter and John McEuen – have pretty much done it all. READING: Paul La Farge @ UAlbany’s Campus Center Assembly Hall, Albany. Novelist La Farge’s latest book is “Luminous Airplanes,” the story of a young man who returns to his family home in the Catskills after his grandfather’s death in order to purge the house of “five generations of junk.” 8pm.
