How many anthems – true-life, epic clarion calls – have sprung up in the fertile Nippertown musical ecology? So many you’ve lost count? Well, prepare a feather for the hat of Mechanicville and its favorite nightingale Casey J. Chapman – here comes her “One Lane Underpass.”

This careening, tragic tale of love-gone-missing ponders, over a savage bluesy beat, bitterness and despair in the wake of a lover’s finally leaving for good. She plays with partner and Troy-built powerhouse Maurizio at the cozy Footsy Magoo’s and batters the adoring crowd into sweet submission.

You really hope these people are making it up…
