FILM: “Samsara” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Director Ron Fricke eschews dialogue and descriptive text, subverting our expectations of a traditional documentary, and instead encouraging our own inner interpretations inspired by images and music that infuses the ancient with the modern. Filmed in 25 different countries over the course of five years. 8pm. $7; students $5.
FESTIVAL: Saratoga Victorian Streetwalk @ various locations, Saratoga Springs. An old fashioned holiday fest featuring carolers, a festival of trees, a trolley up and down Broadway and, of course, Santa Claus. With music by Sax-O-Claus, Annie & the Hedonists, Matt McCabe, Olivia Quillio, John & Orion Kribs, Tim Wechgelaer, Tequila Mockingbirds, Sonny & Perley and lots more. 6-10pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Arthur Brooks’ Ensemble V @ Upstate Artists Guild, Albany. The trumpeter-composer Arthur Brooks is one of the unsung heroes of the new music, and he’ll be joined by bassist Anthony Santor and percussionist Matt Weston. With psychedelic dronemeisters Shape Shifting Shepherds. 8pm.
