Festival Fever: Snoe.down @ Killington, 3/21-24/13

Snoe.down

During the summer festival season, jam band pioneers moe. rock the northeast with moe.down, but when the snow starts to fly, the members of moe. focus their attention on Snoe.down.

The three-day, all-ages winter festival returns to Killington Resort in Killington and Spartan Arena in neighboring Rutland, for a weekend of Vermont winter music, sport and fun during a three-day, non-stop March 21-24.

moe. will headline both Friday and Saturday nights at Spartan Arena. Ivan Neville’s New Orleans funk band Dumpstaphunk will join moe. on Friday and the reunion of the original members of Vermont rockers Strangefolk will join the festivities on Saturday night.

Several afternoon performances by a variety of artists including progressive string band Floodwood (featuring moe. guitarist Al Schnier and drummer Vinnie Amico), bluegrass-country-jam rockers Eastbound Jesus, electro-rockers Jimkata, Brooklyn-based jazz-funksters Tauk and brasstronica quintet the Primate Fiasco will take place throughout the weekend in select lodges at Killington Resort.

On Saturday afternoon, March 23, moe. and special guest Eastbound Jesus will perform outdoors at the base of Killington Resort’s Bear Mountain.

A special, separately ticketed kick-off party will take place Thursday night, March 21 at the Wobbly Barn featuring the melodically inventive musical adventurer Marco Benevento.
