MUSIC: Sally Rogers & Claudia Schmidt @ the Eighth Step at Proctors, Schenectady. The two acclaimed singer-songwriters celebrate their third album collaboration – and their first in 22 years – with Evidence of Happiness. 7:30pm. $20 in advance; $24 at the door.

MUSIC: Midge Ure @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. In addition to a wide-ranging career that includes stints in Slik, Thin Lizzy, the Rich Kids, Visage and most notably as frontman of Ultravox, Ure also co-wrote and produced the blockbuster charity single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” With Right the Stars. 9pm. $25.

MUSIC: BeauSoleil @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Fab fiddler Michael Doucet leads the world’s premier Cajun band to town. With Jules Shear & Pal Shazar opening the show. 9pm. $25.

MUSIC: Solas @ The Egg, Albany. led by multi-instrumentalist Seamus Egan, the Irish-American supergroup performs their new multi-media show “Shamrock City.” Canadian roots band the Duhks will open. 7:30pm. $24.

FILM/DISCUSSION: “Consuming Spirits” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Nearly 15 years in the making, Chris Sullivan’s film is a meticulously constructed tour de force of experimental animation. Shooting frame by frame in 16mm, Sullivan seamlessly blends together a range of techniques – cutout animation, pencil drawing, collage and stop-motion animation – into a distinct visual style, constructing a suspenseful gothic tale that tracks the intertwined lives of three kindred spirits working at a local newspaper in a Midwestern rust belt town. Followed by Q&A with the director. 7pm. $7; students $5.

MUSIC: The Classical Guitar Society of Upstate New York @ the Steamer No. 10 Theatre, Albany. “A Concert of Wonderful Music for Plucked String Instruments” featuring performances by Ray Andrews (Baroque guitar); Fred Hellwitz (classical guitar); Harry George Pellegrin (classical guitar); Eugenio Reis (Brazilian guitar); Andy Rutherford (lute); and Spiral Tango (featuring guitarist William Simcoe and flutist Karen Klevanosky). 8pm. $25 suggested donation.

MUSIC: Catherine MacLellan @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The singer-songwriter kicks off the Caffe’s Maple Leaf Music Series, showcasing the talents of Canadian musicians. 8pm. $16 in advance; $18 at the door. NOTE: Award-winning blues guitarist Bill Bourne, who was originally slated to share the stage, will not be performing due to difficulties crossing the Canadian/U.S. border.

DANCE: Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company @ The Egg, Albany. The Egg’s resident dance company performs a mix of audience favorites and world premieres – all with contemporary movement that celebrates rhythm, energy and musicality. 8pm. $24.
