RUMORS: The Solid Sound Festival @ MASS MoCA, 6/21-23/13…
OK, we’re not really sure if this qualifies as a mere rumor or an actual bona fide hint…
Via the Solid Sound Festival Twitter account: “Rumor has it this amazing pair might appear at Solid Sound this summer”
The Tweet included a link to Nate Chinen’s New York Times review of a Winter Jazzfest performance at the Bitter End in Manhattan last Friday evening (January 11) by the dueling guitar duo of the gorgeously gonzo Nels Cline (of Wilco) and jazz wunderkind Julian Lage…
And while we’re wondering…
Perhaps slowcore vets Low will also take the stage at the Wilco-curated Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams in June? Well, we wouldn’t be surprised if they do. Marking the band’s 20th anniversary, their upcoming album The Invisible Way is slated for release on March 19 from the folks at Sub Pop. And the album was recorded at Wilco’s studio with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy handling the production chores.
Hmmmmm…
Hmm… maybe they’ll bring Bill Fay if he travels. He recorded that song with Tweedy on his latest album and also did a cool version of Wilco’s “Jesus Etc.” (and they’ve covered him in the past). I bet they would ask him but I don’t think he plays out.
They should add a couple of locals like Dinosuar Jr or Mission of Burma;)
