The Most Expensive New Concert at the Times Union Center

The Times Union Center has announced a big new concert for the summer … and it features the arena’s most expensive tickets ever.

Classical-pop crossover vocalist Andrea Bocelli is slated for a return to the Times Union Center at 7:30pm on Thursday June 13. In support of his upcoming album Passione (due for release next week), the tenor will be joined by the New York City Opera Orchestra, conductor Eugene Kohn and soprano Maria Aleida.

Bocelli previously performed at the downtown arena in 1999, when it was known as the Pepsi Arena. Back then the singer set the record for the the arena’s all-time most expensive ticket – $350 for the top ticket price. The Rolling Stones tied the wallet-busting mark when they rolled into the Pepsi Arena in 2005.

But Bocelli is about to reclaim his uncontested Priciest Talent title. The top ticket price for his upcoming June performance is $353.

The full range of ticket prices for Bocelli’s upcoming concert is $78, $128, $198, $248 & $353. Tickets are currently on sale to the arena’s Centertainment Zone subscribers; tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Monday (January 28).
