READING: Jorgen Randers @ UAlbany’s Lecture Center 7, Albany. The author and Norwegian environmental scientist reads from his latest book “2052: A Global Forecast for the Next Forty Years,” a fresh perspective on humanity’s immediate future. 7:30pm. FREE.

TALK: “Paint, Possessions and Polity: 15th-Century Foundations of French Painting” @ Skidmore College’s Palamountain Hall, Saratoga Springs. The 15th-century foundations of French painting are the focus of the art history lecture presented by Jennifer Courts, visiting assistant professor of art history. 5:30pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Rev Tor’s Dead of Winter Party @ the Garage, Pittsfield. Led by singer-guitarist Tor Krautter, the evening’s concert pays tribute to pays tribute to the Grateful Dead with guest appearances by the likes of Pete Adams, Steven Bilodeau, Dave Brown, Gina Coleman, Randy Cormier, Billy Keane, Beth Maturevich, Dave Reed, Rob Sanzone and Ward Woolverton. 8pm. $12.
