MUSIC: Colleen Kattau & Some Guys @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The Central New York activist-songwriter returns with her own band performing her playful, poignant, do-right songs sung in English and Spanish on topical themes connected with war and peace, social change, and human rights in a voice that has been compared to Natalie Merchant and Shawn Colvin. 7pm. $16.

FILM: “Gregory Crewdson: Brief Encounters” @ Triplex Cinema, Great Barrington. Ben Shapiro’s award-winning documentary film about the acclaimed photographer. 11am. $5. More info here…

MUSIC: The Albany Symphony Orchestra @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Special guest pianist Yefim Bronfman joins conductor David Alan Miller and the ASO for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5. Also Kodaly’s “Dances of Galánta” and Christopher Rouse’s “Kabir Padavali.” 3pm.

COMEDY/THEATER: Dirck Toll‘s “Levelling Charges” @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. A special matinee performance with humorist Dirck Toll, who loves words – fast, funny, strange words that make you see the universe from a whole different angle. MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Music Of Jesus Christ Superstar @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. Paul Green, founder of School of Rock, presents a concert-style presentation of the original cast recording, performed by an all-star line-up of local musicians including Tracy Bonham, Gail Ann Dorsey, Joey Eppard, Aaron Freeman, Connor Kennedy, Gary Miller, Joe Russo and many more. MUSIC: Trapt @ Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. With Acidic, Spider Rockets, Harbour Grace and Step Back Eleven. 7pm. $15.

OPERA: “La Traviata” @ Proctors, Schenectady. With a 22-piece orchestra, it’s Hubbard Hall Opera Theatre’s production of the Verdi classic directed by Heidi Lauren Duke. 2pm. $40; students $30. Through February 17.

MUSIC: Linda Lavin @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The Tony Award-winning actress serves up her cabaret show featuring pianist Billy Stritch and a five-piece band. 7pm. $30 & $50.

DANCE: “Peter & the Wolf” @ The Egg, Albany. The New York Theatre Ballet adds jazz, tap and modern dance moves in their brand-new version of the classic tale – performed to live music.
