Concert Series Announced for the Sand Lake Center for the Arts
The Sand Lake Center for the Arts in Averill Park has announced the line-up of performances for its 2013 Squire Jacob concert series. Each of the concerts will take place at 8pm on Saturday evenings.
Tickets are $16; under age 18 $10. A season pass to the concert series – one ticket to each of the shows and one free beverage per concert – is also available for $84.

Saturday, March 23, 8pm
The irrepressible folkster-jokster from New Jersey may bounce from a traditional ballad to a recitation to a parody to a Bach violin concerto played on a concertina.
FOUR SEASONS, FOUR YEARS: THE CIVIL WAR, A MUSICAL JOURNEY
Saturday, April 20, 8pm
Part concert and part theater, this Old Songs spectacular directed by Andy Spence features an all-star line-up of nearly a dozen Capital Region folk musicians, as they tell the tale of the Civil War through songs ans recitations.
LOW ‘N LONESOME
Saturday, June 1, 8pm
The duo of Phil Drum and Rob Adkins hosts a night that traces the history of the blues from the earliest recordings of the 1920s to the birth of electric blues in the 1950s. With special guests Holly & Evan and Sonny Speed & the Resonators.
JONI BISHOP
Saturday, September 21, 8pm
This award-winning Nashville-based singer-songwriter is influenced by the music of Mississippi John Hurt and Elizabeth Cotten.
BING FUTCH
Saturday, October 12, 8pm
This award-wining singer-songwriter from Florida takes the Appalachian mountain dulcimer to electrifying extremes, utilizing African and Native American rhythms, blues, bluegrass, funk, jazz, Celtic, country, Middle Eastern & Latin influences.
BILL STAINES
Saturday, November 16, 8pm
The veteran folk troubadour is a treasure trove of songs – both his own and time-honored folk favorites.
