Win FREE TICKETS to NRBQ @ the Ale House on Thursday!

N is for “No shit? NRBQ at the Ale House?”
R is for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which is where NRBQ belongs.
B is for Best Damn Chicken Wings in town at the Ale House.
Q is for Quality, plain and simple…
Put them all together and they spell: NRBQ.
Led by madcap keyboard conjurer and piano pounder Terry Adams, the band romps into the Ale House in Troy on Thursday night in support of their latest album, We Travel the Spaceways, which was released on the Clang! label last year. Don’t expect the band to stick to the tunes from the new album, however.
The truth of the matter is that you never know what the ‘Q is going to serve up next, and that’s part of the band’s magic. They’ve collaborated with such diverse musicians as Carl Perkins, Captain Lou Albano, Skeeter Davis, Boozoo Chavis and John Sebastian. And their repertoire stretches from Little Richard to Sun Ra and well beyond, which is really saying something.
There’s been a recent shift in the band’s personnel, as well. Adams, drummer Conrad Choucroun and guitarist Scott Ligon will be joined by Casey McDonough, who took over for the departing Pete Donnelly back in September. The Ale House will mark the Capital Region debut of the new line-up. Plus, the ‘Q posted on their Facebook page that they’ll be joined by saxman Klem Klimek and trombonist Carl Quefurth of the Whole Wheat Horns on Thursday night, so it looks like this show could really blow the roof off the place.
NRBQ takes over the Ale House in Troy at 8pm on Thursday (April 18). Tickets are $30, but if you don’t have one yet, you’d better make your move fast.
BUT WAIT… there’s more. We’re giving away a pair of FREE TICKETS for NRBQ to some lucky Nippertown readers! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. Deadline to enter is 12noon on Thursday (April 18). The winner will be selected at random and notified on Thursday afternoon. Good luck! Congratulations to the winner, who has been notified by email.
Still have my propeller hat
Always unpredictable , always great.
My favorite line from Terry, ” there is nothing wrong with Albany, it’s the people”
They def have that Wrestling album behind glass at the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in Amsterdam
My wife will kick me out if I don’t win. She’s always telling me to get a job and such too
While it will be tough to surpass the Cabbage Patch tar and feathering show I witnessed on Martha’s Vineyard a hundred years ago, this is too good to pass up!
No way! Really? Brilliant Quinn!!
Terry alone would always be worth the price of the ticket.
N is for Neolithic
