READING/FUNDRAISER: “Inside Out: Poems and Music from Prison” @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Cara Benson and Gordon Boyd co-host the third annual fundraiser for the Mt. McGregor Organ and Arts Fund. Featuring readings from Derek Anderson and Seán Dalpiaz, video footage of current participants from inside the prison and a panel discussion with the poets and Judith Brink of Prison Action Network. Proceeds benefit the weekly poetry class and other arts programming. 7pm. Suggested donation $25.
FILM: “Girl Rising” @ Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins directed this inspiring and groundbreaking documentary that tells the stories of nine extraordinary girls from nine countries. One screening only. 7pm. $10.
