MUSIC: Leo Kottke @ The Egg, Albany. An evening with the acoustic guitar virtuoso. 8pm. $34.50.

MUSIC: Laurence Juber @ the Van Dyck, Schenectady. Another guitar hero steps into the spotlight. Fusing folk, jazz,and pop styles, the two-time Grammy Award-winner and lead guitarist for Paul McCartney’s Wings lands in the Electric City in support of a pair of recent releases: the concert CD/DVD Catch LJ Live! and the jazz/blues tinged studio album Under an Indigo Sky. 7 & 9:30pm. $20.

MUSIC: The Lionel Loueke Trio @ Williams College’s Chapin Hall, Williamstown. Virtuoso African jazz guitarist Loueke plays with the Williams Jazz Ensemble (directed by Andy Jaffe) during the first half of the concert and then with his own trio to close out the performance. 8pm. FREE.

ARTIST TALK: Xu Bing @ MASS MoCA, North Adams. In conjunction with his exhibition at MASS MoCA “Xu Bing: Phoenix,” the artist will discuss his work of the past 20 years, and in particular will address the events surrounding the making of his controversial Phoenix Project. 5pm. $8.
