MUSIC: Silver Chicken @ the Parting Glass, Saratoga Springs. Not only a reunion of one of the Local 518’s most popular country rock bands – 35 years after the original line-up of Rick Bedrosian, Jim Fish, Todd Nelson and Ted Were called it quits – but also a CD release party for the band’s album Storm Ride, which they started recording in 1977 and just now finished up. MUSIC: Aficionado @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. It’s time to bid a fond farewell to one of the most adventurous Nippertown bands in recent years. Yes, Aficionado is calling it quits, but their throwing this one big party before they go… With Nightmares for a Week. 8pm. $10.

DANCE: The Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. The Nippertown dance veteran Sinopoli and her troupe present “Synesthesia,” an evening of multimedia movement that fuses together the music of percussionist Brian Melick, guitarist Maria Zemantauski and cellist Monica Wilson-Roach, with the prismatic scenes of artist Willie Marlowe’s fabulously chromatic paintings. 8pm. $15, $25 & $28; students & children $15.

DANCE: “[radical] signs of life” @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. The premiere performance of Heidi Boisvert’s multi-media production that externalizes the mind’s non-hierarchical distribution of thought. Music is generated from the dancers‘ muscles and blood flow via biophysical sensors that capture sound waves from the performers’ bodies. As the audience interacts with the images produced, they enter into a dialogue with the dancers. 7:30pm.
