From Caffe Lena to Valentine’s, singer-songwriter Peter Case has rumbled through Nippertown several times in the past couple of years, and he’s scheduled to return to the stage at Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany once again on Friday night (May 10).
The three-time Grammy nominee is a bonafide genre-smasher, equally at home playing power-pop (he led such seminal pop bands as the Nerves and the Plimsouls), folk and blues (his 2007 album Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John Estes) and rock & roll (his 2010 album Wig). No doubt about it, Case is a major talent on the contemporary Americana troubadour landscape.
He’s just wrapped up a tour in Australia, where he shared the stage with the likes of the Hoodoo Gurus, the Flamin’ Groovies, Blue Oyster Cult and the Buzzcocks. And now he’s ramblin’ into Valentine’s for a solo acoustic show. The College Farm are slated to open the show at 9pm on Friday (May 10), and advance tickets are available online, priced at $10.
