Flashback: Al Kash in Blackfeather

If you recognize that big ole head o’ hair in these photos, then you’re probably familiar with Al Kash (drummer extraordinaire/percussive adventurer for such Local 518 bands as the Last Conspirators, the Units/Fear of Strangers, Axe Iron Suns, Nite Train, Medusa Pleasure Werkes, Tornado Bait, Folding Sky, and yes, indeed, this list could go on for a long, long, long time).

But long before in Nippertown days, Kash was pounding the skins for one of Australia’s premiere early-’70s prog-psych-blues-rock bands Blackfeather. This song “Seasons of Change,” was their first big hit, and now some 42 years later Aztec Music has remastered and re-issued the vintage nugget of an album, At the Mountains of Madness.

And if you’re looking for a bit of rock trivia, Kash reveals, “This song features Bon Scott on recorder.” Yes, that very same Bon Scott, in his pre-AC/DC days…
