New Concert: Zombies Walk Among Us?
Although there’s been no official word yet from the New York State Office of General Services, it looks like veteran British rockers the Zombies just might be headed into Nippertown. According to the band’s website, the Zombies are scheduled to play a free concert at the Empire State Plaza in Albany on Wednesday, June 26.
The Zombies scored their biggest Top 10 hits back in the ’60s with “Tell Her No,” “She’s Not There” and “Time of the Season.” And the band’s 1968 album, Odessey and Oracle, was named one of the 100 Greatest Albums of All Time by Rolling Stone.
These days, the band is still led by co-founders Colin Blunstone (vocals) and Rod Argent (keyboards). The band released a new studio album, Breathe In, Breathe Out, in 2011 and the brand new album Live in the UK.
Stay tuned for concert details as they develop…
I’ve seen this incarnation of the band several times. Wonderful. Colin Blunstone still has the pipes and Rod Argent is still one of Rock’s great keyboard players. Pray for sun.
