Debbie Gibson Headlines Capital Pride Fest, 6/9/13

“Foolish Beat”…
“Electric Youth”…
“Shake Your Love”…
“Out Of The Blue”…
“Lost in Your Eyes”…
“Only in My Dreams”…

’80s teen-pop icon Debbie Gibson will be churning out her batch of vintage Top 20 hits when she bounces into Albany’s Washington Park as the headliner for the annual Capital Pride Festival on Sunday, June 9.

Now 42 years old, Gibson was the youngest person to ever write, record and produce a No. 1 hit single when “Foolish Beat” hit the top of the charts. Since then, she’s spent most of her time on Broadway and West End stages starring in musicals from “Grease” to “Les Miserables.”

But you can bet the Gibson will be back in teen-pop mode when she bops onto stage at the Capital Pride Fest. Joining her at the fest will be Aiden Leslie with his dance-floor hits “Love to Hate You” and “Trying to Leave Now” and Local 518’s own the Accents. FLY92’s Shawn Gillie serves as emcee.

Immediately following the Capital Pride parade around the park, the fest runs from 1-5pm, and admission is free.
