LIVE: Portugal. The Man @ the Hollow Bar + Kitchen, 5/23/13

Yes, psychedelic pop-rockers Portugal. The Man snuck into Nippertown last week to play a couple of acoustic shows to preview their upcoming album, Evil Friends. Produced by Danger Mouse, the album is slated for release on Tuesday (June 4).

You couldn’t buy tickets to shows; you could only win them from the local radio stations who were sponsoring the shows – WEXT-FM and WEQX-FM.

You can listen to the band’s WEXT-FM session when it’s broadcast on “Live at EXT” at 12noon on Friday, June 21. But in the meantime, tireless music hound and regular Nippertown contributor Timothy Reidy was there to capture Portugal. The Man’s rendition of their new song “Sea of Air” from the band’s WEQX-FM show at the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany.
