New Rock Concert Added to the Palace Theatre Calendar

There are guys who own guitars.

There are guitar players.

And there are guitarists.

And then there are bona fide guitar heroes, like Joe Satriani, who has been an envelope-pushing force on the six-string scene since his 1987 breakthrough album Surfing With the Aliens – that’s more than a quarter century. He’s played with everyone from Deep Purple to Mick Jagger, and his new album, Unstoppable Momentum, proves that he’s not about to let up any time soon.

Satriani and his band – veteran bandmate and keyboardist-guitarist Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai), as well as a new rhythm section, featuring bassist Bryan Beller (Dethklok, Dweezil Zappa) and drummer Marco Minnemann (Adrian Belew, Steve Wilson) – are out on the road, and they’ll be making a stop at the Palace Theatre in Albany on Wednesday, October 2.

Opening the show at 7:30pm will be the Steve Morse Band, led by guitarslinger Steve Morse of the Dixie Dregs and Deep Purple.

Priced at $38, $58 & $78, tickets are slated to go on sale to the general public at 9am on Friday (June 7).
