Comin’ Soon: New Concert Announcements
The magnificent blues-meets-gospel group the Holmes Brothers make a long overdue return to Nippertown with a tour stop at Club Helsinki in Hudson at 9pm on Friday, July 5. Tickets are $25 in advance; $28 at the door.
Also at Club Helsinki, the Helsinki On Broadway cabaret series continues to reel in some big names, including Ann Hampton Callaway at 7pm on Sunday, July 7; Christine Ebersole at 7pm on Sunday, July 28; and Terri White at 7pm on Sunday, August 18.
If you loved the Waterboys’ concert at The Linda in March as much as we did, you’ll be thrilled to know that they’re headed into the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 8pm on Friday, September 20. And this time around, Mike Scott will be bringing along a full band, once again featuring fiddler Steve Wickham and keyboardist Daniel Mintseris, in addition to guitarist-keyboardist Jay Barclay, bassist Malcolm Gold and drummer Chris Benelli. Opening the show will be Freddie Stevenson. Tickets go on sale on Friday (June 7), priced at $25, $35 & $45.
The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park welcomes California indie-pop-rockers Youngblood Hawke on Friday, July 19, in support of their new album, Wake Up. San Cisco is slated to open the show at 8pm. Priced at $10.27 in advance, tickets will go on sale at 10am on Friday (June 7).
There goes the Neighbourhood… Frontman Jesse Rutherford leads LA rockers the Neighbourhood into Vapor Nightclub in Saratoga Springs for a free concert at 7:30pm on Monday, August 5, in support of the band’s recently released debut album, I Love You.
Zendaya – teen star of the Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up” and recent runner-up on “Dancing with the Stars” – headlines the open house concert at the Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs at 3pm on Sunday, July 14. The open house runs from 11am-4pm. Reserved seats for the clubhouse and grandstand will be available on Sunday (June 9). Tickets are free, but Ticketmaster will be charging a $1.50-per-ticket service charge.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Guitar hero Joe Satriani and his band are scheduled to invade the Palace Theatre in Albany this fall on their Unstoppable Momentum Tour. With the Steve Morse Band in the opening slot. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (June 7).
CANCELLED: Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings have cancelled their scheduled performance at Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival due to health problems. More info here…
