MUSIC: Fred Eaglesmith & the Traveling Steam Show @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Acclaimed Canadian singer, songwriter and rock ‘n roll bandleader Fred Eaglesmith is a genuine iconoclast, old-time showman and true original with 19 – count ’em, 19 – albums to his name. MUSIC: Aoife O’Donovan @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The marvelous vocalist of Crooked Still, the Wayfaring Strangers and the Goat Rodeo Sessions celebrates the release of her brand new solo album, Fossils. 8pm. $20.

Spanning five years, this documentary by Laura Checkoway delves deep into the fringes of NYC to reveal a life etched in wounds, longing, resilience and dreams. FILM: “The Little Girl Who Sold the Sun” (“La Petite Vendeuse de Soleil”) @ the Saratoga Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. Named one of the 10 best films of 2000 by The Village Voice, Djibril Diop Mambety’s film tells the story of feisty Sili Lam, a 12-year-old beggar on crutches, keen to support herself and her blind grandmother, who becomes the first girl in her Senegalese city to peddle newspapers. 7:30pm.

FILM: “Secretariat” @ Skidmore College’s Zankel Music Center, Saratoga Springs. The second film of the Saratoga 150 Film Festival. 7:30pm. $5; FREE with ArtsPass.
