Inspired by John Meyer’s memoir of the same name, Heartbreaker focuses on the two months John Meyer spent getting to know troubled Hollywood star Judy Garland. This true, first‐hand account sheds new light into the star’s troubled life and penchant for self‐destruction. Funny and touching with a hint of drama, this show gives the audience an intimate look into Garland and Meyer’s time together, including sharing his childhood bedroom at John’s parents’ home, singing at nightclubs in London, and many adventures in between. Included in the show are some of Meyer’s songs, such as “I Want to Hate Myself in the Morning,” which Garland sang on national TV.
