The Egg’s Fall 2013 Concert Update

The Egg in Albany has announced that tickets are now available to members for its 2013 fall concert season, and tickets will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday (July 24).

New memberships are currently being accepted for those wishing to taking advantage of the pre-sale. For more information on memberships, call The Egg’s box office at (518) 473-1845.

Iconic British folk rock legend Richard Thompson, one of the world’s most critically acclaimed and prolific songwriters and admired guitarists, performs an intimate solo acoustic concert. Singer, songwriter (& son of Richard) Teddy Thompson will open the show.

Over the Rhine
With Tift Merritt

Over the Rhine – featuring Karin Bergquist and Linford Detweiler – seamlessly interweaves the disparate idiosyncratic strains that form the many-colored crazy quilt of American music as heard on their latest recording The Long Surrender. Tift Merritt, who injects a healthy dose of sweet southern soul into her original songs, will open the show.

The Joshua Redman Quartet

The charismatic, soulful saxophonist Joshua Redman performs music from his latest album, Walking Shadows, which includes music from jazz standards to Bach, the Beatles, John Mayer and originals with his quartet featuring pianist Aaron Goldberg, bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Gregory Hutchinson.
