Festival Fever: New Music Festival @ Empire State Plaza, 9/7/13

As we announced way back in May, up-and-coming retro-soul artist Mayer Hawthorne is scheduled to groove on to the Empire State Plaza in Albany as the headliner for the New Music Festival (formerly known as Local Legends Live) on Saturday, September 7.

But things got a whole lot more soulful with the new announcement that steel guitar hero Robert Randolph and the Family Band will also be sharing the bill. Yikes!

And there’s a couple of fine Local 518 bands now scheduled to perform as well. And it’s all FREE…

Here’s the line-up for the New Music Festival, as far as we know:

2pm: Graham Tichy
3:15pm: The Mysteios
4:30pm: Superhumanoids
5:45pm: Robert Randolph & the Family Band
7:45pm: Mayer Hawthorne

  1. Tim says

I wish I could go to this.

  2. Andrew Gregory says

Isn’t it funny and odd that this year the three locals scheduled to perform _could_ be considered young legends?

  3. LP says

This lineup will get me there…no doubt

  4. Stanley Johnson says

Hmmn…time for that three-sided coin again. Rest Fest, Jazz Fest or New Music Fest? Heads you win, tails you win, unless we get another weather event like last year.

  5. Fred says

Graham Tichy and Robert Randolph and the Family Band?!!! It’s a no-brainer, Albany, this is the show to go to on Sept. 7th.
