CD Release Party for the Stony Creek Band
The Stony Creek Band will celebrate the release of their new CD, Stony Creek Band Live!, at the Stony Creek Inn at 6:30pm on Sunday (August 4). The release celebration and performance by the band are the culminating events of the weekend-long, tenth annual Stony Creek Mountain Days Festival.
The CD was recorded earlier in the year during a concert performance at the Hudson River Music Hall in Hudson Falls. The recording captures some of the high-energy, fast-paced country blues tunes that the band is known for, with a mix of originals and classic remakes. Hot shot playing from Hank Soto on electric guitar and Fred Lantz on mandolin is supported as always by the rock solid rhythm section of John Strong on acoustic guitar, Dave Maswick on bass and Mike Lomaestro on drums. (Dave Maswick recently released his own solo album, too, titled The News From Here.)
The new 10-song Stony Creek Band album includes such nuggets as “Down Along the Cove,” “Crow Black Chicken,” “When My Baby Comes Home,” “Blue Yodel No. 4 (California Blues),” “Louise,” “The Streamlined Cannon Ball,” “E.M.D.,” “Never Talks Back (Red & Blue Baby),” “Here’s to the Ladies” and “I Know You Rider.”
