Festival Fever: The Old Austerlitz Music Festival, 8/24/13

WHAT: The Old Austerlitz Music Festival & Contra Dance

WHEN: Saturday, August 24
Festival: 11am-6pm
Contra Dance 8-10pm

WHERE: Old Austerlitz, 11550 State Route 22, Austerlitz

FESTIVAL: Old-time favorites and traditional music will be performed by a number of popular local musicians, including Joe Adee, Sheri Bauer-Mayorga, Kurt Barensfeld, C. Ryder Cooley, John Reilly, Maisie Rugen and Mariah Lewis. Musical performances will take place from 11am-4pm, followed by a jam session in the barn from 4-6pm. All ages are welcome to participate – sing along, bring an instrument to play or just relax and listen. Admission to the music festival and jam session is free.

CONTRA DANCE: At 7pm, the old barn will turn into a dance hall. The evening festivities will begin with a one-hour lesson in Contra Dancing for beginners. The Contra Dance will start at8 pm with music provided by the Mountain Laurel Contra Dance Band. Admission for the dance is $10 for adults; free for children.
