MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Music for the Mind: A Benefit for Suicide Prevention @ Revolution Hall, Troy. In memory of Gage Freeman, it’s a benefit concert for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention featuring music by Soul Sky, Knot Dead and the Mike McMann Band. 5pm. $25, including appetizers.
MUSIC: Physical Plant @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The Florida-based band plays an eclectic blend of psychedelic rock drawing on such influences as Yes, Kansas, Vampire Weekend and Arcade Fire. Poughkeepsie psychedelic-folk quartet the Warp the Weft opens. 8pm. $7.
ARTS WALK: Downstreet Art @ various locations, North Adams. Seven new art exhibition openings, as well as a one-day gallery installation, and a musical performance by Vermont Joy Parade, a seven-piece ensemble playing an eclectic blend of Americana, indie-rock, old-time, and country blues. 6-9pm. FREE.
RADIO ON STAGE: “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!” @ Tanglewood, Lenox. Hosted by Peter Sagal, the Peabody Award-winning, radio quiz show offers a fast-paced, irreverent look at the week’s news. Listeners call into the show from around the country to answer quirky quiz questions, presented by Mr. Sagal, a panel of featured humorists, and Official Judge and Scorekeeper Carl Kasell. 8pm. $21-$120.
FILM: Animation Festival @ Proctors, Schenectady. Today’s screenings include “Cinderella” (10am, 2pm); “Peter Pan” (12noon, 4pm); “From Up On Poppy Hill” (6pm); Oscar 2013 Nominated Short Films Animation (8pm). $5; $3 for age 17 and under; $25 for all-festival passes (good for all films through Saturday).
MUSIC: Jennifer Lewis Bennett @ the Stockade Tavern, Kingston. The jazz singer teams up with Woodstock fave Tim Moore on piano and guitar, Rich Syracuse on upright bass and Craig Hazen on electric bass. 7:30pm. FREE.
