Festival Fever: Wall Street Jazz Festival in Kingston, 8/30-31/13

The tenth annual Wall Street Jazz Festival is this weekend, and, no, you don’t have to travel all the way down to Manhattan’s financial district. No, we’re talking about Wall Street in Kingston.

The fest comes in two parts:

On Friday (August 30), it kicks off at 8pm with “The Art of the Duo: Dual Pianos” concert at the Old Dutch Church, featuring Dena Derose, Francesca Tanksley, Nina Sheldon and Peggy Stern. Admission is $15.

Then on Saturday (August 31), the jazz moves outdoors for an evening of FREE music to the corner of Wall and North Front streets. Here’s Saturday’s performance schedule:

6pm: The Claire Daly Quartet: Baritone Monk featuring Claire Daly (baritone sax, flute, vocals), Steve Hudson (piano), Mary Ann McSweeney (bass), Peter Grant (drums)

7pm: The Tenth Anniversary All-Play (mixed duos, trios, quartets) featuring Ingrid Jensen, Jay Clayton, Suzi Stern, “Sweet” Sue Terry, Teri Roiger, Judi Silvano, Mary Ann McSweeney, Rich Syracuse, Jon Wilkan, John Menegon, Francesca Tanksley, Dena Derose, Lew Scott, Peter O’Brien, Peggy Stern and special guests

9pm: Estrella! Salsa featuring Ingrid Jensen, Sue Terry, Claire Daly (horns), Lew Scott (bass), Peggy Stern (piano), Peter O’Brien (drums), Emilio Valdés (percussion)
