The New York State Writers Institute readers’ series kicks off with a bang – as the best-selling author of “Motherless Brooklyn” (1999) and “The Fortress of Solitude” (2003) reads from and discusses his new novel, “Dissident Gardens,” a family saga about three generations of New York City leftists. 8pm.
