Win FREE Tickets to the Charlie Watts Riots’ CD Release Party @ Valentine’s, 9/21/13

The Charlie Watts Riots are back with their long-awaited sophomore album – and they’re coming back in a big way with a double-header CD release party on Saturday (September 21).
The power-trio popsters’ smashing new 11-song album is titled A Break in the Weather, and that’s exactly what they might need because the early weather reports aren’t all that sunny for Saturday afternoon when guitarist Seth Powell, bassist Mike Pauley and drummer Joe Putrock will be cranking out their delicious power-pop nuggets at LarkFest in Albany.
But never fear… Even if things do get a bit damp outside on Saturday afternoon, it’s pretty much guaranteed that it will be all dry and toasty later that same evening when the boys invade Valentine’s Music Hall for their official CD release bash, which is also serving as the LarkFest after-party.
With just enough time to slide from Lark Street to New Scotland Avenue, the triple-bill festivities at Valentine’s are slated to begin at 6pm with Juston Stens (formerly of Dr. Dog) leading his new band the Get Real Gang. Boston-based Nippertown expat John Powhida grabs the middle slot on the party bill with his band, John Powhida International Airport, before the Charlie Watts Riots wrap it all up with their no-holds-barred, all-amped-up brand of dizzying contagious, hook-filled pop-with-a-punch. Tickets for the bash at Valentine’s are $5.
BUT WAIT… Have we got a deal for you! We’re giving away a pair of FREE TICKETS to the show to a lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The deadline to enter is 12noon on Friday (September 20), and the winner will be selected at random and notified on Friday afternoon. Enter today! And good luck!
