BURLESQUE: Bing Bamboo Room Burlesque @ the Hollow Bar + Kitchen, Albany. A special surprise guest hosts BBR’s ninth anniversary with a gala presentation of more than 20 acts, including sinfully stunning sideshow performers and buxom bodacious burlesque beauties. 8pm. $12.

MUSIC: The Toasters @ Chameleons, Pittsfield. The veteran ska band will have you kickin’ up your heels all night long. With Vermont punks Midnight Saints, Western Mass. Ramones tribute band the Remones and homegrown ska/reggae rockers Red Sky. 7:30pm. $12.

READING: Poets Speak Loud @ McGeary’s Pub, Albany. The monthly poetry forum and open mic session is hosted by Mary Panza with featured reader Jacqueline Kirkpatrick. Sign-up at 7pm; readings at 8pm. FREE.

FILM: “When Comedy Went to School” @ the Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. One screening only of this documentary that presents a portrait of the greatest generation of comedians – including Jerry Lewis, Sid Caesar, Robert Klein, Jackie Mason, Mort Sahl, Jerry Stiller, Larry King and others – all of whom make appearances in the film, sharing hilarious and personal experiences. 7pm. $9.50; $7.75 seniors; $6.75 children.
