Real Good for FREE: Troy Chowderfest @ Riverfront Park, 10/13/13
S’mores Chowder…
Autumn Pear Chowder…
Apple & Pork Belly Chowder…
BLT Chowder with Mini Grilled Cheese Croutons…
And those are just a few of the chowder variations that you can sample for yourself on Sunday (October 13), when the seventh annual Troy ChowderFest takes over Riverfront Park in Troy. More than a dozen Nippertown restaurants will be serving up something special, chowder-wise, so bring a hearty appetite.
Here’s how it works: Each ticket that you buy for $1 entitles you to a cup of chowder, and, of course, you can buy as many tasting tickets as you like. Then vote for your favorite chowder and help crown the People’s Choice winner in the ChowderFest competition.
And in addition to some good eating, there will be live music throughout the day as well. And naturally, the Standard Clams will get their moment on the bandstand at the Chowderfest…
Here’s the schedule of events and performances for Troy ChowderFest 2013:
10am: Festival opens
10am: Erin Harkes
11:45am: The Standard Clams
1:30pm: The Refrigerators
3pm: Awards ceremony

Question: 10/13 or 10/23? Headline says 10/13 and body says 10/23. Thanks!
Anne Marie, Thanks for catching that. It’s this Sunday, October 13. (I don’t know why they put the “2” key right next to the “1” keyboard on the keyboard…)
