Festival Fever: Festival of the Dead @ Washington Avenue Armory, 10/19/13

Albany’s fifth annual Festival of the Dead takes over every inch of the Washington Avenue Armory on Saturday night. That’s right, the entire Armory, including the main floor arena, all four ballrooms, even the basement, will each be hauntingly decked out with different themes and different music to suit everyone’s entertainment needs.

Bands performing at the bash include the Erotics, Shotgun Wedding, the Henchmen, the Swing Docs, Poor Dead Molly, Bishop, Uncivil Liberty, Jimmy Hinchcliff and MotorHome. In addition, there will be a number of DJs, macabre artwork by Jeff Brower, the UAlbany step-dance team Organized CHAOS, a wandering magician and a big costume contest with prizes awarded for Best Group, Most Creative, Scariest and Sexiest Costumes.

Doors open at 7pm; festivities run from 7:30pm-3am. Tickets are $30 in advance, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Family Trauma Fund at Albany Medical Center and the Aurora Foundation, as well as a donation to Team Sonny Ann.

NOTE: Costumes aren’t merely encouraged; they’re required!
