Comin’ Soon: New Concert Announcements

It’s going to be a rip-snortin’ Valentine’s Day celebration at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock when gospel-rock steel guitar great Robert Randolph & the Family Band grab the spotlight at 9pm on Friday, February 14. Tickets are $35 & $45.
Asking Alexandria grabs the spotlight at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Thursday, March 27, with support acts August Burns Red, We Came as Romans, Crown the Empire and Born of Osiris kicking off the festivities at 6:30pm. Tickets are on sale now priced at $25 in advance; $30 at the door.
Club Helsinki plays host to Seth’s Sauerkraut Revue at 9pm on Saturday, January 18 ($10); African music legend Oliver Mtukudzi & the Black Spirits at 9pm on Friday, March 7 ($20 in advance; $22 at the door); and singer-songwriter Heather Maloney at 9pm on Friday, April 4 ($15).
James Durbin – the fourth place finisher on the tenth season of “American Idol” – rolls into Albany’s Hollow Bar + Kitchen for an acoustic show on Wednesday, January 29. Advance tickets are $12; VIP $50.
A Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain has added a batch of new acts to its 2014 roster of performers. In addition to previously announced performers Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Brantley Gilbert, new additions to the festival line-up include Randy Houser, Thompson Square, Craig Morgan, Thomas Rhett, Tyler Farr, Charlie Worsham, Chase Rice, Blackjack Billy and Gwen Sebastian. Tickets are currently on sale for the fest, which takes place from Friday-Sunday, June 13-15.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Grammy Award-winning pop-rockers Train will once again be chugging into the shed at Tanglewood in Lenox, making it the San Francisco-based band’s third Tanglewood concert in four years. Tickets go on sale on Sunday, January 26.
Sean Jones, formerly the lead trumpeter with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra directed by Wynton Marsalis, will be bringing his band (featuring pianist Orrin Evans, bassist Luques Curtis and drummer Obed Calvaire) to SPAC to make their Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival debut on the Gazebo Stage on Sunday, June 29.
UPDATE: Ticket prices have been announced for Holly Williams’ concert at Club Helsinki in Hudson at 9pm on Friday, February 27. Tickets are $15 in advance; $18 at the door.
There’s no official word yet from the Wood Theater in Glens Falls, but according to Jim Brickman’s website, the romantic pianist will be making a stop there at 7:30pm on Friday, March 14, as part of his Love Tour. Additional details TBA.
