Winter Band Residencies: Hunkering Down for January

Suddenly, it seems as though the Big Bear Concept of hibernating for the winter is a really great idea, don’t it? Well, it seems that even rock bands – at least the smart ones – don’t like to go out there traipsing through the snow and cold… So instead of hitting the road for a tour, bands are often settling in for a month-long residency during January.

Here are a few bands with local January residencies in the works this month:

THE CHRONICLES
Red Square, Albany
Every January Thursday at 9pm
NOTE: The Chronicles will be bringing along a different opening act each week: West End Blend (on January 9), Mr. Breakdown (January 16), Cedric Burnside (January 23) and Big Mean Sound Machine (January 30). And while admission is $10 per night, you can also purchase a four-night pass for just $20.

HAIR OF THE DOG
The Parting Glass, Saratoga Springs
Every January Saturday at 7pm (plus Fridays January 17 & 24 at 8pm)

AMY HELM & THE HANDSOME STRANGERS
The Falcon, Marlboro
Every January Monday at 7pm
