Brothers Luke Mallett and Will Mallett are country boys from Portland, Maine. And their dad is acclaimed folk singer-songwriter David Mallett. But on the alt-country/rock spectrum, the Mallett Brothers Band leans toward the rock end of things. Don’t be surprised if they fire up a chainsaw for for a solo or two when they rip it up at Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs on Friday night (January 10).

Since forming in 2009, they’ve released three acclaimed full-length albums, including their latest, Land. They’ve toured the country extensively, opening for everyone from .38 Special to Toby Keith. And last year, the band – which also features drummer Brian Higgins, bassist Nick Leen, dobroist-guitarist Wally Wenzel and guitarist-mandolinist Nate Soule – was voted Best Rock Band in Maine at the New England Music Awards.

The Mallett Brothers Band takes the stage at Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs on Friday (January 10), with Adirondack roots-rockers Decadence kicking off the evening at 9:30pm. Tickets are $7; $12 if under 21.
