The Beatles said it best when they sang, “All you need is love”…
And in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ arrival in New York, The Egg’s Swyer Theatre in Albany will be hosting a concert titled “All You Need Is Love” at 7:30pm on Friday, February 14. Yup, that’s right, you guessed it – it’s a concert jam packed full of the Fab Four’s classic love songs performed on Valentine’s Day.
“The concert will demonstrate how the Beatles’ music has been an important part of generations of New York performing artists, whether they are rock, jazz or folk musicians,” said Peter Lesser, The Egg’s executive director.
Performing in concert will be four fab, diverse acts – the Nutopians (a John Lennon tribute band led by ed by Rex Fowler of Aztec Two-Step and Tom Dean of Devonsquare), the rock trio Rick Bedrosian, Tom Raider & Brad Jarvis (of the Beatles’ tribute band Hey Jude…The Tribute), the folk trio of Sara Milonovich & Scott Petitio and jazz pianist Cole Broderick.
And making it the perfect Valentine’s Day treat for Beatles fans, admission to the concert is absolutely FREE (although tickets – which are available here – are required).
Keeping Nippertown’s Beatlemania at fever pitch, The Egg will also present a concert by Beatles tribute Band the Fab Faux accompanied by the Crème Tangerine Strings and Hogshead Horns at 7:30pm on Saturday, February 15. Tickets are $35, $45 & $60.
