LIVE: Five Alpha Beatdown @ Valentine’s Music Hall, 12/19/13

A year ago in Metroland, writer/lawyer/drummer/fortuneteller Paul Rapp made this bold prediction for 2013: “Five Alpha Beatdown will get signed to a major label that thinks the band really are from Iceland. ‘You’re Boring as F***’ will be a major, major hit and will inspire the next Judd Apatow film of the same title.”

The clock was ticking and time was running out… Sharing the stage with an all-star line-up that also included Charmboy, Doojh and the Five-Dollar Shakes, 5ABD had one last chance as they took the stage for the final time in 2013. Would a major label scout be lurking in the audience at Valentine’s Music Hall? Perhaps Danny McCarroll on a holiday homecoming trip to Delmar? Or maybe Apatow himself making a stop in Nippertown on his way to visit pal Graham Parker in Woodstock?

The answer to these burning questions were no, no and no… but a good time was had by all nonetheless.
