WORKSHOP/MUSIC: Music Matters: Hip Hop @ Albany Public Library, Albany. Led by veteran Local 518 emcee Sev Statik, this is the second of six hour-long sessions for anyone interested in learning the various musical aspects of hip hop, including tips and tricks to make your own beats and rhymes. FILM: “Sweet Dreams” @ the Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. No, not the Patsy Cline bio-pic. Rather a documentary about Rwanda’s first and only women’s drumming troupe, made up of women from both sides of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Offering a place of support, healing and reconciliation, the group decides to partner with two young American entrepreneurs to open Rwanda’s first ever ice cream shop. Followed by a Skype Q&A with the director. 6:30pm. $10.

MUSIC: Amy Helm & the Handsome Strangers @ the Falcon, Marlboro. The daughter of Levon Helm and Libby Titus continues her month-long Monday night residency with her band, featuring Byron Isaacs, Daniel Littleton and David Berger. 7pm. Donations encouraged.
