MUSIC: “Evensong: A Celebration of Pete Seeger” @ the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany, Albany. A celebration of the life and music of Pete Seeger. 7pm.

MUSIC: The Sword @ the Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. With Big Business and O Brother. 8pm. $17.

MUSIC: Zappa Plays Zappa @ The Egg, Albany. Guitarist-vocalist Dweezil Zappa leads his band – Scheila Gonzales (saxophone, flute, keyboards, vocals), Kurt Morgan (bass, vocals), Chris Norton (keyboards, vocals), Joe Travers (drums, vocals) and Ben Thomas (lead vocals, trumpet, trombone) – through his dad’s classic Roxy & Elsewhere in celebration of the album’s 40th anniversary. 8pm. $33.25 & $43.25; $68.25 VIP Soundcheck Party. UPDATE: This concert is officially sold out.

MUSIC: Zach Deputy @ Putnam Den, Saratoga Springs. With Gubbulidis (Mihali and Zdenek of Twiddle) in a special duo performance called “Loops and Shreds.” 9:30pm. $17; $22 if under 21.

MUSIC: Schwervon! @ the Half Moon, Hudson. With Ferriday. 9pm. $5.

    Greg Haymes founded Nippertown, along with his wife Sara Ayers, in 2009. Greg was a musician, journalist, and ambassador to the Capital Region arts community. Greg passed in April of 2019, but his legacy continues.

      Joe Travers no longer plays drums for Zappa Plays Zappa, he was replaced by Ryan Brown.
