The doors have been open since for a month now, but the Low Beat in Albany will celebrate its official grand opening on Friday, April 4 with the Figgs. Opening the show at 8:30pm will be Chalaque. Advance tickets are $10.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In support of his new album, Morning Phase, Beck takes the stage at MASS MoCA in North Adams this summer for his only New England show of the tour. Tickets go on sale at 12noon on Saturday (March 15).

Straight outta the Lone Star State, two new shows are on tap for the Hangar in Troy – Ray Wylie Hubbard at 8pm on Thursday, May 1, and honky tonker Dale Watson at 8pm on Wednesday, June 4. Check the Ale House for advance tickets…

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Modest Mouse concert at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown sold out in a flash last week, so a second show has been added with Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls opening. Tickets go on sale on Friday (March 14).

The annual Phil Ochs Song Night returns to WAMC-FM’s The Linda at 8pm on Saturday, May 24, hosted by Phil’s sister Sonny Ochs and Wanda Fischer of “The Hudson River Sampler.” Paying tribute to Och’s music will be Magpie, Kim & Reggie Harris, Bob Warren & Joy McKenzie, Cathy Winter and Boxcar Lilies. Tickets are $18.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Six-time Grammy Award-winner Skrillex is bringing his Mothership Tour – also featuring DJ-producer Dillon Francis, Grammy-nominated producer DJ Snake, What So Not and the Los Angeles duo Milo & Otis – to Albany’s Washington Avenue Armory. Tickets go on sale on Friday (March 14).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On the tribute band front, ABBA The Concert is headed in Albany’s Palace Theatre. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (March 14).

Comedy kingpin Louis CK has declared, “In 27 years doing this, I’ve seen a handful of truly great, masterful stand-up sets. One was Tig Notaro last night at Largo.” The self-described “dry, dead-pan, one-liner comic” Tig Notaro will step into the spotlight at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 8pm on Friday, September 26. Priced at $25 & $35, tickets are slated to go on sale on Friday (March 14).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The inaugural Rhythm On the Ridge Americana Music Festival takes place at Revolution Hall in Troy on Saturday afternoon (March 15).

International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainers of the Year the Gibson Brothers and the winners of last year’s inaugural FreshGrass Award, Cricket Tell the Weather, have been confirmed for the 2014 FreshGrass Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams, taking place from Friday-Sunday, September 19-21. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington announced a handful of new concerts, including Natalie Merchant, blues guitar great Buddy Guy. jazz trio the Bad Plus with special guest saxman Joshua Redman and star a Broadway and films, Bernadette Peters.

My Darling Clementine – the British country music duo of Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish – will be making a stop at the Ale House in Troy on Wednesday, April 16, on their upcoming U.S. tour.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not one show. Not even two shows. Phish is headed into the Saratoga Performing Arts Center for a three-night stand in July.

Dopapod grooves into Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs on Thursday, April 24. Aqueous is scheduled to open the show at 9:30pm. Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door; $5 surcharge if under 21.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Italian rock star Zucchero is slated to make his Nippertown debut at The Egg in Albany. Tickets are on sale now.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Buffalo-bred Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry and Plain White T’s are joining forces for a summer tour that’s scheduled to make a stop at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs.

OPENERS: Jesse Clegg opens for his dad Johnny Clegg at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Saturday, April 5… Roots music collective Birds of Chicago opens for the Carolina Chocolate Drops at The Egg in Albany on Wednesday, April 2… Fruition has snagged the opening act slot for the Infamous Stringdusters at Club Helsinki in Hudson on Saturday, March 23… Elliott Brood has been added to the bill with the Head and the Heart at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Monday, May 26.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s a country music triple bill at the Glens Falls Civic Center, when headliner Chris Young brings along tour mates Jerrod Niemann and Courtney Cole for some rowdy fun. Tickets went on sale this morning (Wednesday, March 12).

CANCELLED: Comedian Jamie Kilstein has cancelled his performance at Troy’s Sanctuary for Independent Media, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 19.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Susanna Kirakosyan and Marina Abrahamyan team up at The Egg in Albany for the upcoming Armenian Piano Concert next month.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Dublin-born Broadway star Ciaran Sheehan steps into the spotlight at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall at 7:30pm on Friday April 5 as a fundraiser for Albany’s Irish American Heritage Museum. Tickets are on sale now.
